37th Annual Bike-A-Thon [9/8/24]
September 8 @ 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Join us for the 37th annual Bike-A-Thon on September 8th, 2024!
We are thrilled to launch this year’s Bike-A-Thon with five amazing rides to choose from: 10 mile, 35 mile, 50 mile, 63 mile, and 105 mile road routes! Each route will be supported with rest stops, food, and route markings. If riding is not for you, we have over 120 volunteer opportunities at the event!
For all event details, including routes and registration, check out our Bike-A-Thon website here!
This year, our fundraising goal is $230,000! Riders and event supporters help raise critical funds to support Bikes Not Bombs mission through:
- The reclamation of bikes for use in unique local and international social justice projects;
- Opportunities for youth and adults to gain hands-on skills while working to build a more sustainable world;
- Meaningful jobs and professional mentorship for Boston teenagers and young adults; and
- The expansion of a thriving, equitable bike culture, locally and globally.
Event Overview
Riders arrive at Stonybrook Field in Jamaica Plain on the day of the event between 6:45am and 10:30am, depending on their chosen route. Upon arriving, riders park their bikes (valet bike parking is provided), register if they have not already done so, enjoy a free breakfast, and get their bike checked by BNB mechanics before leaving on their ride!
All of the Bike-A-Thon routes will be clearly marked on the road and GPX routes will be available for download and use with a smartphone or a GPS bike computer. Each route will have at least one rest stop where riders can hydrate and fuel up on snacks. Each rest stop will be staffed by volunteers, including a bike mechanic and a medical professional for any bike repair or first aid needs.
All rides end at Stonybrook Field, where there will be an after-party with live music and delicious catered lunch, including many vegan and vegetarian options.
