Red Line Shutdown Group Ride: Ashmont to JFK/UMass and City Hall [10/27/23]

Ride distance: 2.8 miles from Ashmont to JFK/UMass or 7.2 miles from Ashmont to City Hall Plaza
Location Start: Droser Plaza at the Ashmont MBTA Station, located at the corner of Dorchester Ave and Ashmont St. The plaza is located between the Bluebikes station and the Dorchester Ave entrance to the Ashmont MBTA Station, and you can find it on Google Maps here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/UEt3xSoprpbPvcBz5
Location End: JFK/UMass MBTA Station OR City Hall Plaza (your choice!)
Have you been affected by the Red Line Shutdown? Are you interested in commuting from Ashmont to JFK/UMass or downtown by bike? Join Bikes Not Bombs and the City of Boston’s Chief of Streets for a group ride this Friday, October 27th as we make a morning commute from Ashmont to JFK/UMass by bike.
Our convoy will meet outside of Ashmont Station between 7:30 and 7:45am, with our ride departing at 8:00am sharp. We will then ride to the JFK/UMass MBTA Station, about 2.8 to 3 miles. Riders may stop here to take the Red Line, or can join us as we continue downtown and ride a further 3.5 miles to City Hall Plaza.
You may ride your own bike or use Bluebikes! If you are a City of Boston resident affected by the Red Line shutdown, you may be eligible for a Free Bluebikes Pass. Interested Boston residents should fill out the form at this link to sign up for a free pass while these passes last.
