Bikes Not Bombs closed Thanksgiving Day 11/24/2022
Bikes Not Bombs will be closed Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 24th, 2022).
As we take this time to rest and enjoy food with friends and family, we also encourage others to reflect upon our country’s past and present participation in perpetuating colonialism, and in the genocide and displacement of Indigenous people. As an organization located on Massachusett and Pawtucket land, and one committed to racial justice, we recognize that we can not progress as a country until we reflect on that history, reconcile with it, and provide equitable solutions towards justice for all Indigenous people.
Bikes Not Bombs stands in solidarity with all people seeking freedom, justice, and self-determination. To learn more, please read this article from the Indigenous-led organization Cultural Survival about how to honor native peoples on this day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.
Please note that while we are closed for Thanksgiving Day, we will be open this coming Friday and Saturday during regular shop hours for our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday Sale happening between now and December 4th. Visit this post for more information or stop by this weekend.
