Support Steve Murphy’s Fundraiser for Bike Match!
Hello!
I’m Steve Murphy – A biker and a runner.
In 2013, I rode my bike solo and self-contained across the country to raise money for Earn-A-Bike. I was inspired to help the young people in the programs get bikes and develop mechanical skills along with gaining self-confidence.
This year I’m taking on a running challenge to help raise money for Bike Match. This is a program where people who need the utility of a bike to get to and from work or school and do errands can get one for free if they qualify. Needless to say, there is much more need and demand than there are bikes available.
Let’s Change That!
My goal is to raise $5,000 dollars to help get the next 10 Bike Match applicants riding. How? I’m going to attempt a running challenge of 60 miles over 2 days and hopefully inspire you all to donate.
This challenge is called - 5 x 4 x 48: Run 5 Miles, Every 4 Hours, For 48 Hours.
All the runs will take place on the trails of the Blue Hills Reservation in Canton. The clock starts Saturday September 25th at 12 pm. Follow along as I run at this link.
As a life-long runner, I’m trying to push some limits and see how much endurance is in my legs and how much grit is in my mind. Your donation will help make the running happen for me and the riding happen for Bike Match applicants. Donate and help someone get to work! Donate and help me get out of bed at 4:00am to run 5 miles! Fill out the form below to donate. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your support.
