After the graduation, participants get to take home thier bike and will also receive a lock, helmet, and lights. Congrats graduates! Family and friends welcome!

At an inaugural event, 13 young people became members. We now have a calendar full of events, rides, and retreats that allow members to remain active at Bikes Not Bombs, even after their involvement through Earn-A-Bike, Girls In Action or as a youth employee ends.

After hearing countless stories about youth members being stopped and harassed by police, Bicyclists Organizing for Community Action (BOCA), the youth activism program of Bikes Not Bombs, worked with lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, National Lawyers’ Guild and law firm Jason & Fischer to develop a training on the responsibilities of cyclists to follow traffic laws and their legal rights when interacting with the police.

Bikes Not Bombs celebrates 30 years of social change!  Folks from BNB's past, present and future all mingled at Doyle's Cafe and enjoyed cake from Canto 6 Bakery.  Many founding board members, past Executive Directors and other staff as well as long term volunteers joined in for the fun, and to look forward to the next 30 years!
