Refurbished bicycles in stock! & Temporary cancellation of online bike sales

News released on:

Dear BNB community,

Recently, there has been a tremendous increase in the demand for bicycles, and this has led to a bike shortage across the nation. This shortage in supply is due to a variety of factors, such as anxiety associated with riding public transportation, the desire to exercise and move around as the weather warms up, and limited production of new bicycles by many manufacturers.

Bikes Not Bombs has plenty of bicycles in stock. Because we are committed to the sustainable and equitable consumption of resources for the health of our communities and our planet, we have a robust stock of donated and refurbished bikes that are being built up for sale to the public. We encourage customers to call the Bike Shop at 617.522.0222 to inquire about our inventory or to schedule a test ride.

We have also decided to temporarily cancel the online sale of bicycles at our web store because some customers have come to test ride bicycles, and it will be purchased simultaneously on the Internet. To prevent this situation from happening again, we are moving forward with in-person test rides and sales only.

Bikes Not Bombs is also looking for experienced bicycle mechanics to volunteer help toward the repair and refurbishing of donated bicycles. This will ensure that we are able to meet the increased demand and get bikes to the public. If you are interested in becoming a shop volunteer, please email Ben@bikesnotbombs.org.

Thank you for your understanding, and we will be happy to help you find a bicycle that fits your needs and your budget.
