David's Presentation2014 Ability Bikes Annual MeetingInternational Programs Director David is in Ghana, visiting our partner organizations Ability Bikes Cooperative and Village Bicycle Project.  During his two week trip he is working closely with the staff of both organizations to provide technical assistance and improve our partnerships.

At Ability Bikes' annual meeting, David K. Torsutsey, one of the administrators, did an excellent presentation of the 2014 accounts of Ability Bikes, comparing them to previous years all the way back to 2009. In 2014, Ability Bikes imported over 3,000 bicycles, more than ever before, refurbishing and retailing about 70% of them, while wholesaling 30% to other local bicycle shops. This contributed toward a very strong year, and a positive trend that Ability Bikes plans to carry into 2015.

Ability Bikes also evaluated their new bicycle inventory system, reviewed their 2014 goals, and set new targets for the business in 2015. All of the members are enthusiastic about the coming years and the potential for continued growth - they want to provide more jobs for people with disabilities, and to acquire land to eventually establish a more permanent bicycle workshop.
