On Thursday December 11th Bikes Not Bombs celebrated our 30th Anniversary!  We had 250 volunteers, founders, former staff, youth participants, Bike-A-Thon riders and supporters join us at Doyle's Cafe to celebrate three decades of growth and to look towards the future.  Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun, to Canto 6 Bakery who made two delicious cakes and Doyle's who graciously hosted. The Bikes Not Bombs Shop is currently operating on Winter Hours and is closed on Sundays.  Additionally both the Shop and the Hub will be closed on Thursday November 27th and from Wednesday December 24th - Sunday January 4th.  Please refrain from leaving donations outside of our doors during this time.  We will reopen on Monday January 5th, 9am for the Hub and 12pm for the Shop.  Thank you for your patience with calls and emails! On September 17th Bikes Not Bombs had a great group of around 50 supporters join us to Support Food Justice in El Salvador.  After an introduction by Executive Director Jodi Sugerman-Brozan and Educator-Activist Modesto Sanchez the group watched a clip from the video 9.70.  The video highlighted the effects of similar legislation that went into effect in Colombia. On Wednesday August 13th, 2014, 22 youth graduated from Earn-A-Bike!  With bikes they had refurbished over the previous 2.5 weeks, new helmets and locks, the youth received certificates and medals congratulating their hard work.  The ceremony included safety and flat fixing demonstrations as well as a bike fashion show.  Congratulations graduates! THANK YOU PEDRO'S! This January, BNB's shipment to the Village Health Workers in Amuru, Northern Uganda, arrived without a scratch. In addition to the 400 adult mountain bikes, BNB loaded tons of spare parts and tools, including an AMAZING donation of tools from PEDRO'S, filling multiple tool boxes. Read more...

Bikes Not Bombs is proud to announce that our third annual Building Momentum Breakfast, held on Wednesday, October 23rd, was a huge success. Over 75 guests attended the event including long-time community members and new supporters who were just learning about our work for the first time. We create local and global programs that provide skill development, jobs, and sustainable transportation.
