Learn\, Work\, Develop (LWD) \nLearn\, Work\, Develop (LWD) is a nongovernmental organization founded on November 5th\, 2013 and operating in Rwanda. LWD’s mission is to promote effective work and sustainable employment for youth and women. Over the decade since its founding\, LWD has established a number of educational and vocational training programs for local youth\, with the goal of connecting them to sustainable job opportunities. \nIn October\, 2018 LWD initiated their bicycle social enterprise in partnership with Bikes Not Bombs\, an initiative called Support Safe Rides in Africa (SSARAF). SSARAF provides internships and vocational training to local youth. LWD imports\, repairs\, and sells used bicycles (such as the ones BNB ships to them) with the intention of addressing social issues in their community. The young people involved with this program participate in the various stages of this process and gain valuable experience.
