SUMMARY:Great Commuter Challenge [August 16th]
DESCRIPTION:Join Bikes Not Bombs & friends on Saturday August 16th to explore Boston and compete in a multi-modal scavenger hunt: the Great Commuter Challenge! \nTeams of 2 to 5 people will pick a mode of transportation (car\, MBTA\, or bike) and compete against each other — and the clock — to rack up points on a scavenger hunt challenge en route to our final destination.  \nTeams will be given a list of scavenger hunt challenges to pick from\, creating & navigating their own path through the city. Points will be awarded for each challenge completed as well as arrival times\, with bonus points awarded for extra efforts along the way. Photograph each stop with your team for judges to confirm your points! \nAs teams arrive\, we’ll tally up the points to determine our winners. Prizes include biking accessories and a BNB gift card. At the end location\, join us for lunch and ice cream while we share our journeys\, compare our scavenger hunt points\, and hand out prizes to our winners! \nStarting point: Bikes Not Bombs\, 284 Amory St in Jamaica Plain \nEnd point: Final location will be revealed at the event\, but we will be ending in East Cambridge at a location accessible by car\, public transportation\, and bike.  \nRSVP required: Let us know if you can make it! Everyone is welcome to join. Please RSVP by Friday August 15th so that we can order enough food for everyone. \nSchedule: \n\n10:00 am: Meet up at BNB\, form your teams\, and review the rules. Each team will be given a list of scavenger hunt tasks & scoring rubric\, a basic map\, and a copy of the rules. \n10:30 am: Let the scavenger hunt begin!\n1:00 pm: Teams arrive at our End Point to submit their photos & routes\, hang out with pizza and ice cream.\n1:45 pm: Winners are announced and prizes are given out!\n2:00 pm: Close out at our End Point; or head back to BNB on a group bike ride\, transit convoy\, or carpool.\n\nQuestions? \nEmail BOCA@bikesnotbombs.org with any questions.
