Music\, bikes\, beer\, advocacy\, and a celebration of Bay State Bike Month- what could be better? \nHosted by MassBike\, Somerville Bike Safety\, Cambridge Bike Safety and the Somerville Bike Committee\, we’ll be joined by over 35 local bike advocacy organizations and municipal and state agencies who will be sharing their ideas and energy for making bicycling better (and safer) in the Boston Metro region. \nAt 3pm\, there will be a panel discussion entitled “The Intersection of Bikes and Businesses”\, moderated by Willie Burnley\, Somerville City Councilor. The goal of the event is to help collect and repurpose bikes that Bikes Not Bombs will use in local programming and for shipment to our international partners in the Global South. \nPlease review our bike donation guidelines here for details on what we do and do not accept. \nAnyone from Littleton and the surrounding communities are welcome to participate in the Bike Drive! We suggest an optional donation of $20 with every bicycle donated to assist with tools and parts needed for repairs\, as well as transportation costs associated with sending refurbished bikes overseas. DESCRIPTION:Ride to Pride \nJoin Bikes Not Bombs on our third Unity in Community Ride of the 2024 season on Saturday June 8th. \nThis ride retraces key points in Boston’s Pride Parade of 1970\, stopping at key historical points along the way. Riders will learn more about why events like Pride\, based on radical love and acceptance\, were important in 1970 and remain so today. Our ride will end at the Boston Pride for the People (BP4TP) Parade at Boston Common. The BP4TP Parade is is a community-centered\, non-commercial space that is sacred for LGBTQ+ people\, their families\, and allies. Volunteer roles will consist of stripping bikes\, sorting parts\, inventory tracking and counting\, and much more. Bikes Not Bombs staff will be present to guide and direct volunteers. This event invites you to immerse yourself in the community’s rich culture. Make your way along the route and explore a medley of local businesses\, activity zones\, live music\, and food! Here you’ll find everything from face painting\, yummy treats from local food vendors\, interactive art\, and more! Embrace the spirit of togetherness along this car-free route from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—it’s an unforgettable celebration of Jamaica Plain’s community that is free for the public to attend. \nDoes your bike need a little TLC? Need your bike adjusted or looked over but at a location closer to you? Bring it with you to Open Streets: Jamaica Plain! \nChain Reaction is Bikes Not Bombs’ hallmark mobile bike repair\, bringing much-needed bike services to our target communities in Boston. Our skilled staff and Youth Apprentices will be on site to offer free bike check-ups\, or what we call the ABC-Q’s. While we can’t offer a full tune-up on the spot\, we offer the following services at no cost: \n\nABCQ’s: making sure your air\, brakes\, chain\, and quick-release are all properly adjusted\nBrake & shifting adjustments\nCleaning & lubricating chains\nBike estimates\nTube swaps and patch kits\nCable swaps (depending on mechanic availability)\nProfessional advice\n\nBNB’s exact location for this event is forthcoming\, so keep an eye out on our social media channels!

We invited you to join us at a future event! \nStop by one of our monthly site visits: Everyday Revolution Tours! \nDuring the tour\, you will learn about our vision and our programs\, and have the opportunity to meet with some of our Youth Apprentices and staff members. We are confident that by seeing our community’s work in action\, you will understand the important role you can play in helping us promote social change with our bikes. \nOther dates for 2024 are Saturdays 8/17\, 9/28\, 10/19\, and 11/23\, scheduled from 10am to 11am.

DESCRIPTION:Exploring Boston’s Black History \nJoin Bikes Not Bombs on our fifth Unity in Community Ride of the 2024 season on Saturday August 3rd for an enlightening and empowering experience celebrating the heritage and contributions of Roxbury’s Black community. \nFrom historic landmarks and cultural institutions\, to the stories of influential figures who shaped the community\, this ride offers a unique glimpse into the heart of Roxbury. Stops along our route will highlight the rich tapestry of Black history that defines this vibrant neighborhood. Explore the legacy of activism\, art\, and resilience that continues to inspire and uplift. \nThis is an 8 miles route with some riding on city streets.
