Marcell & Faith, Adult Earn-A-Bike graduates with their new bikes!

We are proud to offer Adult Earn-A-Bike!  Started in April of 2015 our Adult Earn-A-Bike program is designed to fill in the gaps of our Youth programs for adults who do not have financial access to bikes or face systemic oppression.

In order to earn a bike adults are required to:

  • Participate for 5 hours either by volunteering or attending free clinics (Volunteer Night is Thurs. 7-10pm, clinics are scheduled twice per month)
  • attend a final Adult Earn-A-Bike clinic.
  • Submit a sliding scale fee of $25-$50, with fee waivers available.

Eligible participants are 19 years of age or older, and identify with one of the following:

  • lack financial access to bikes
  • live in a community that is underserved by public transportation
  • in transition from incarceration
  • immigrant to the US

After graduation, participants will earn a professionally refurbished bicycle, a helmet, lock and lights.  Participants will also be trained in basic bicycle maintenance, safe riding skills, and how to use their bike accessories.  All graduates will receive a 15% discount at the BNB Bike Shop for one year and access to Adult Earn-A-Bike Alumni Night.

Interested applicants should complete an application either online or print out the PDF.  For paper applications, turn it into the Bikes Not Bombs Bike Shop at 18 Bartlett Square, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.  Any questions can be directed to Chelsea DeSantis at or 617-522-0226.
