Teens Rally Against Job Cuts
Bikes Not Bombs Youth Instructors participated in a youth jobs rally during February Vacation week. The rally, which was protesting against cutting funding for youth jobs this summer, drew about 700 youth from various organizations.
The rally was organized by teens from Dorchester Bay Youth Force and the Boston-Area Youth Organizing Project after they found out about multi-million dollar cuts to the youth jobs budget.
For BNB Youth Instructors these cuts hit close to home. The instructors, who work year-round teaching lessons and leading rides in Earn-A-Bike and Girls in Action, understand the importance of youth jobs funding and felt it was important to support their peers.
