BIKE-A-THON SUCCESS!
Thanks to your efforts, the 23rd Annual Bike-A-Thon and 3rd Annual Green Roots Festival were a HUGE SUCCESS!!! We had a record number of riders, exceeded our fundraising goal, and had a blast at the Green Roots Festival.
This year’s Bike-A-Thon had 458 registered riders and raised over $125,000 to support the work of Bikes Not Bombs! All of you riders, sponsors, and volunteers should be so proud of how your hard work has paid off. and if you raised money but then couldn't make the raindate of June 20th, you are also part of this success - thank you! This is BNB’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we could not be more appreciative of everyone’s efforts to recruit riders, gather sponsorships, and spread the word about Bikes Not Bombs.

Again, too many people to thank here, but special shout outs to our check-in volunteers, photographers, face painters, volunteer yoga instructors, medal-makers, nurses, rider food servers, mini-bike race organizers, route markers, route leads and sweeps, rest stop volunteers, HAM radio operators and following vehicles.

FOOD FOR OUR RIDERS
Amir's Natural Foods
BNB wants to thank Chef Amir Sedholm again for his neighborly commitment to Bikes Not Bombs for the past four years. His healthy food is present at nearly all our events, and we are always proud to provide such tasty and healthy food. Purchase his packaged food from City Feed and Supply, or call him directly for catering!
City Feed & Supply
Thanks to City Feed for major sponsorship that helped to feed the riders breakfast and on the Rest Stops.
Chef Brian Sway of Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham
Brian Sway has been cooking the gourmet food for the rider meal every year, and we overheard: "of course everything Brian makes is delicious." Brian was going to ride himself but couldn't make the rain date. Thanks so much Brian!
Chris Yoder of Vanguarden Farm
Chris provides locally grown organic produce for the riders year after year, and his Community Supported Agriculture program feeds many households in the Boston area!
FOOD VENDORS
Norma's Catering - Norma also donated some food for our rider picnic. Traditional Latina food and empanadas, with vegan options, call for catering!Himalayan Restaurant - Nepali and Indian food, from West Roxbury.
De Hot Spot - Jamaica food, roti, curries, beef patties, from Blue Hill Ave by Franklin Park.
ULA Cafe - our neighbor in the Brewery Complex!
PEDAL POWER!
We want to thank Ben Todd of Stony Brook Fine Arts who built and donated the pedal-powered generator that amplified the sound system for speakers and performers all afternoon. And thank you to everyone who took a turn pedaling it!
Thanks PJ Goodwin for sound engineering.
Bici-maquinas
That's Spanish for "bicycle machines." MIT's D-Lab students brought models of machines they have engineered in partnership with Maya Pedal in Guatemala - a Bikes Not Bombs partner.
YOGA
Thanks to Sara Kochanowski, Fiona Akhtar, and Stephen Buslovich for teaching yoga in the park!
RECYCLING & COMPOST
We make every effort to put on a GREEN festival. To that end, we want to thank Bill Perkins and all the volunteers from the trash sorting table.
