Girls In Action - Video Online & Graduation!

Spring Girls in Action wrapped up on Friday, June 18th with a graduation celebration and potluck.

The graduation featured the girls' finished bicycles in addition to the premiere of two environmentally-themed Public Service Announcements that the girls wrote and produced as their final project. One PSA, "When Asthma Attacks" explains asthma and it's connection to air pollution. Another, entitled "Respect the three Rs," is a comical look at reusing, reducing and recycling.

Parents, friends and family also got a unique perspective of Girls in Action through a viewing of a recent Neighborhood Network News piece that was filmed during the Spring session of the program. You can see this video below, or click to see it online.

Two of this session's Girls in Action participants, Aliyah Coren and Fatuma Hussein have been hired as paid Youth Instructors to teach the co-ed summer Earn-A-Bike programs, moving up in their skills and leadership experience!
